If golf can turn into fun entertainment at places like Puttery and BigShots, imagine what you can do with a shuffleboard. Well, Electric Shuffle did – and it’s coming to Deep Ellum in Dallas soon.
The UK-based restaurant and bar chain “Reinvents” the shuffleboard with “unparalleled vision technology” for an immersive and highly social experience. The games are automatically graded and displayed on a screen next to the table. Add in handcrafted cocktails, live DJs, pizza, and other snacks, and all you need is to bring some action to the wrist.
The first location in the US will open in November at 2615 Elm Street and will look like this from the outside:
“Deep Ellum’s blend of history, philanthropy and innovation makes it an inspiring destination that we have long admired,” said Gene Ball, CEO of Electric Shuffle USA, in a statement. “As we collectively make up for missed moments with friends, we are excited to raise the bar in a surprisingly competitive way that is having a positive impact on the community. “
Play electric shuffle
The old-fashioned shuffleboard dates back hundreds of years, with a long, silent table and one or two leggings sliding pucks across the sandy wood surface. But Electric Shuffle brings a “lightning rod” to that experience – by charging their vision technology, making the game more immersive, and offering three different games inspired by different aspects of shuffleboard,
To play, two teams of up to 16 players will face off in the three games featured, battling to “ride the rail” as they use Body English to lead their pucks to victory.
The site aims to provide “the ultimate social experience for groups or friends”, inspiring fierce competition as players try to hit each other’s pucks out of the winning zone.
Artisanal cocktails, pizzas, spritz and “Southern hospitality”
Also on the menu alongside artisanal cocktails and pizza: “seasonally inspired small plates” and plates to share accompanied by local beers, spritz, etc.
Electric Shuffle will be open for lunch and dinner Monday through Sunday and for brunch Thursday through Sunday as they offer what they call “an epic, bottomless brunch option.” The venue says private events will also be available for groups ranging from 32 to 350.
From the creators of the Flight Club social darts concept
Electric Shuffle is the latest entertainment concept from the creators of the Flight Club social dart concept, which has seven UK locations and two US franchises in Chicago and Boston. Here is a render of the Chicago franchise, which looks rather chic. Now if they bring any of the those here someday we’ll really need to work on our wrist action:
