A convention of more than 400 players from across the Midwest will be held in Manitowoc from Friday morning through Sunday evening.

The Fire & Ice convention will be held at Manitowoc’s Holiday Inn at 4601 Calumet Ave. Although masks are not mandatory, they are encouraged.

The convention will require all attendees to provide proof of vaccination at the time of registration before receiving a badge.

From 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, attendees can expect board, card, figurine, and role-playing games. It will also host a silent auction, raffles and tournaments.

All paying convention attendees can rent board games for free upon presentation of photo ID. From well-known favorites like Settlers of Catan and Ticket to Ride to lesser played games like Cave Troll and Lord of the Rings: The Card Game, a wide variety of games will be available to play.

Participation prices range from $17-$12 for daily passes, up to $45 for a three-day package that includes a t-shirt and prize tickets. Children ages 5-12 can enter for $5 per day.

A calendar of events as well as ticket information is available online.
