The restaurant celebrates its closure with month-long activities

ALEXANDRIA, Va., September 13, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Lena’s Wood Fired Pizza and Taplocated in the Del Ray/Rosemont area of Alexandriaannounced today that its popular tropical-themed outdoor dining experience, Lena’s Oasiswill close at the end of this month.

In June 2020with the approval of temporary authorizations for outdoor activities by the City of Alexandria to help local businesses during Covid, the Yates family – the owners of Lena’s – started Lena’s Oasis. Not content with simply providing covered outdoor seating, the Yates family and Lena’s team aimed to provide a true escape for the Alexandria community at Lena’s Oasis, with a unique, safe, captivating and comfortable experience that was the first of its kind. Now, after more than two years and the expiration of the city’s temporary outdoor activity permits, Lena’s Oasis says, “Arrivederci.”

To create Lena’s Oasis, the Yates Corner parking deck was transformed into a 6,000 square foot experiential dining space comprised of a 4,000 square foot tent area and a 2,000 square foot outdoor pet-friendly patio. square footage that featured Lena’s main menu favorites as well as a specialty menu theme featuring signature dishes and cocktails, in an immersive tropical atmosphere. The Yates family worked with REVOLUTION Events and CG & Co Events to bring this vision to life. The result – a tropical-themed tent filled with Moroccan-style decor, colorful mood lighting, a plethora of tropical plants, ceiling fans, vibrant chairs and tiled tables, and curtains transparent whites to give guests a cabin-like feel at their table. Since its launch, the space has become a favorite spot for regional diners, from a simple soiree to private events and large-scale weddings. Additionally, the experience’s signature “Ciao Bella” photo wall became the highlight of diners’ visits to post Instagram-worthy moments.

Over the past two years, Lena’s Oasis has provided a safe and unique space for people to continue to enjoy the simple pleasure of dining out – serving tens of thousands of guests – and providing diners with a captivating experience for celebrate their special occasions with friends and family. – with more than 3,500 birthdays, anniversaries and other special occasions celebrated.

To celebrate the success of this pop-up dining experience, throughout September Lena’s Oasis will host a variety of activities.

  • For each reservation made at Lena’s Oasis during the month of September, the restaurant will donate $1 to ALIVE, a food program that serves those in need within the Alexandria community. Additionally, Lena’s will activate its annual Lena’s Loyalty Program for its most loyal customers, offering them a complimentary bottle of wine when they dine at Lena’s during the month of September.
  • Lena’s Oasis will host a four-course Italian wine dinner, the September 19 and 20, featuring a preview of new Italian wines added to Lena’s main menu with dishes specifically paired by Lena’s chef.
  • A professional photographer will be on site September 30 for guests to take home a special commemorative photo in front of Ciao Bella’s signature wall.
  • Guests who post their festive farewell visits to Lena’s Oasis on social media using the hashtag #LenasOasisFarewell, will be entered for a chance to win a $100 Lena’s gift card.
