Great Magicians Convention in Mission – Mission City Record

The mission is about to get very magical – literally.

The 89th Annual Association of Magicians of the Pacific Coast will hold its convention in Mission November 10-13.

The conference covers the entire Pacific Rim, as well as countries like Canada, the United States, Australia, Japan, and thousands of members across the Pacific.

The conference is hosted by two prolific children’s entertainers, like Norden the Magician and the Great Gordini, who have combined over 40 international awards for their acts and contributions to the magical community.

Norden wanted to bring the conference to his hometown of Mission this year and made an offer to the committee.

“I’m very excited about this event,” said Mike Norden.

A comedy show will kick off the event on November 10, featuring YouTube comedian Wes Barker. This show will take place in the ballroom of the Best Western.

Then on November 12 will be the big show, called Hocus Pocus, at the Clarke Theater at 7:30 p.m. featuring international magical celebrities who have appeared on Penn & Teller Fool Us, Ellen, Comedy Central, Big Trick Energy and more.

On top of that, each night of the convention, the hotel will have traveling magicians doing table magic at the Scratch restaurant.

Over 100 magicians will be in town for the convention, so don’t be surprised when you’re walking down the street and someone stops and asks you to “pick a card…any card.”
