Checklist: 2021 Maui Halloween Events

“Halloween is on,” according to Maui Mayor Victorino. Although a return to the door-to-door tradition is allowed this year, the mayor is encouraging drive-thru options. A list of upcoming events is posted below:

Halloween in Lahaina – West Maui Drive-Thru Trick-or-Treat Monster Maze

The Monster Maze Drive-Thru Trick-or-Treat is a free public event from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday, October 31 at the North Maui Outlets Parking Structure. Participants must register in advance for a time slot, and space is limited.

Entrance to the event will be via Papalaua Street and vehicles will exit via Waine’e Street.

Families will be greeted by airborne aliens, waders, mermaids, a haunted pirate ship, flash mobs and more. The event is a partnership with the City of Lahaina Action Committee, Outlets of Maui, Fuzz Box Productions and the Rotary Clubs of Lahaina, who provide gift bags for the keiki.

Maui County will partner with businesses and community organizations to present a free Halloween driving adventure at Keōpūolani Regional Park in Kahului from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday, October 31. No reservations are necessary, just drive and enjoy the fun.


“Trick-or-Treating is a great way across Maui County for this year’s Halloween,” said Mayor Michael Victorino. Plus, the county offers families a safer, hassle-free event with our Halloween Driving Adventure and No-Trick Treats.

Highlights of the event include the Maui Classic Cruisers Vintage Car Showcase, the popular LahainaTown Action Committee Mystery Maze, and a pumpkin patch. Generous treat stations will be staffed by volunteers from the county and community partners.

Enter the Halloween Drive-Thru adventure by turning right onto Wahinepiʻo Avenue onto Keōpūolani Parkway. A Keiki Loop area will be available for families with infants and toddlers so young people can safely return to their car seats and booster seats before exiting Kanaloa Avenue.

Lahaina Gateway will host a virtual Halloween scavenger hunt from October 24-29, with followers searching for Halloween items hidden in an upcoming Lahaina Gateway Facebook and Instagram post and providing direct message responses.

Three winners will be drawn from among those with the correct answers.

Winners will be notified on October 30 via direct message to schedule a time to collect their prize, which will be in stores and restaurants in the mall.

“While the festivities will remain virtual this year for everyone’s safety, we are thrilled to welcome this social media giveaway as a fun and interactive vacation activity for the Maui community,” said Diana Whitt, Director General / Vice President of Property Management of Lahaina Gateway on Hono. ‘Api’ilani highway in Lahaina.

This contest is open to residents of Maui, and accounts must be public to enter. No purchase is necessary. This giveaway is not sponsored by Instagram or Facebook, nor are they associated with this giveaway.

Hui No Ke Ola Pono will host Holoholo Heleuī, a free and fun “spooky” community health event at the University of Hawaiʻi Maui College on Saturday, October 23 from 5 to 8 p.m.

There will be a unique and interactive Halloween experience behind the wheel of a chest or treat that follows the spooky story of Kapena – a sailing captain who loses gems and seeks revenge.

Participants will have the chance to time travel through a haunted shipyard and complete three missions to lift the curse cast by Kapena and her crew.

Keiki can also show off his cute, spooky and creative Halloween costumes in a virtual costume contest. Photos can be submitted online here. The deadline for submitting photos is Friday, October 22 at 5 p.m. The winners will be notified no later than Halloween, Sunday October 31.

In addition to family events, Hui No Ke Ola Pono makes healthcare easily accessible. Families who wish to be vaccinated against influenza or COVID-19 are welcome to receive their vaccines. COVID-19 vaccines are only available to people 12 years of age and older with valid ID. If available, beneficiaries should bring their insurance card with them.

Free dental cleanings and screenings will also be available for the keiki. No insurance needed. Families are requested to register their keiki for dental treatment before the event. Register now here.

Participants of this free, family-friendly event are asked to enter via Wahinepiʻo Avenue through the rear parking lot of the UH Maui College campus.

The Azeka Mall will be celebrating Halloween from a distance this year with a virtual costume contest. Families are encouraged to share their costumes with the community, October 10-31.

Entrants can submit a photo using the hashtag #AzekaHalloween on Facebook or via an Instagram post.

Registration is open to all families and keiki ages 1-10, who can have a chance to win $ 50 in “Azeka Gift Card Bucks.”

Winners can use the $ 50 at any participating Azeka store or restaurant. The winners will be chosen based on two prize categories “scariest costume” and “most creative costume”. Prizes will be awarded to winners in the keiki and ‘ohana categories.

2021 CandyLane is a free drive-thru community event for families. The event takes place on Friday, October 29, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Registration is available in line.

Pet owners are invited to celebrate the spooky season with KÄ«hei Kalama Village by submitting a photo of their pet’s awesome Halloween costume to the centre’s virtual pet costume contest.

“Whether your furry baby is a cat, a dog or a lizard (scale baby?), We want to see a photo of it. Share your pet’s outfit this year in a friendly contest for everyone to enjoy, ”according to an announcement from the event.

Use the hashtag # KKVhalloween2021 with costume submissions on social media for a chance to win $ 50 in KKV gift cards. The $ 50 gift cards can be used at any participating store or restaurant in KÄ«hei Kalama Village. The contest will run from October 10 to 31 and the winners will be chosen shortly thereafter.
