Among them are Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, former Lagos State Governor Bola Tinubu, former Transport Minister Rotimi Amaechi, Senate Speaker Ahmad Lawan and former Senate Speaker, Ken Nnamani.

When PREMIUM TIMES visited selected hotels in Garki Zone 1, Wuse, Wuse 2 and Central Business District (CBD), it was discovered that the apartments had been fully booked by APC and APC delegates. other devotees.

Despite the high cost of rooms per night, no rooms were confirmed available for rent for the next three days at Transcorp Hilton, Nicon Luxury, John Wood, Valencia, Barcelona, ​​Chelsea and Candellux Imperial hotels, during the visit. of our journalists.

Blue Spring, Stone Edge and Ekiti House Hotel near Eagle Square were fully booked for delegates despite an average cost of N35,000.

“Sorry, we’re fully booked for the next three days because of the convention,” a Stone Edge receptionist told PREMIUM TIMES Sunday night.

The cheapest room in the hotel costs N45,000 per night, while rooms at the Transcorp and John Wood hotels cost almost three times that amount during such a period.

It was also discovered that some delegates were sharing rooms in some hotels.

Preparations at Eagle Square

PREMIUM TIMES has noticed that life has resumed in Eagles Square, the venue for the convention.

Craftsmen were seen cutting and joining timbers to erect aspirants’ banners around the roads leading to the facility. The pavilions where the delegates of the 36 states and the FCT will stay, as well as the state lodge, are being tidied up.

Although no urns were seen at 10 a.m., workers were preparing to erect them.

Posters of wannabes adorn the spaces around the square, as food vendors and other business owners, including fashion designers, display their wares.

Security around the plaza has been tightened as armed officers are seen at strategic points leading up to the facility.

Access roads to the site have been blocked. The FCT Police Command had on Sunday advised residents of Abuja to find alternative routes to some roads leading to Eagles Square.

According to police, some of the deviated routes are the Goodluck Jonathan Highway (per the Court of Appeal), NITEL Junction, Bullet, Bayelsa House and NNPC Towers, DSS Headquarters, Ceddi Plaza Bridge, Gana by Transcorp and the headquarters of the DSS, among others.

APC National President Abdullahi Adamouinspected on venue Sunday evening and said he was satisfied with the level of preparation of the establishment.
