Ahead of the 2023 general election, some actors of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the federal constituency of Dass, Bogoro and Tafawa Balewa backed Adamu Sulaiman Usman, a university professor to replace the former speaker of the House of Representatives , the Honorable Yakubu Dogara.

The former president, who currently represents the three local government areas in the House, was first elected in 2007 and holds the seat to this day.

The secretary of the Dass Unity Support Forum for Kaura 2023, Abdulmummini Haruna Bazali, made this known in an interview with a reporter yesterday during a stakeholder meeting in the Dass local government area in the ‘State of Bauchi.

He said the young professor from Bingham University Abuja possessed all the qualities needed to replace the former Speaker of the House, adding that he had been exceptionally successful in all his endeavors.

Bazali said Usman was chosen based on his background and family background, stressing that he has excellent moral education and respects everyone regardless of their financial or social status.

“We consider that it is high time that we, at Dass LGA, produced the member of the House of Representatives because since the return of democracy, we have produced only one representative in 1999, and he has past that mandate.

“Our candidate was identified by Mr. Gideon Bawa, a political icon of Dass LGA, so the Dass Unity Support Forum for Kaura 2023 has no choice but to support Adamu Usman to succeed the former president as a way to inject new blood into the system, “he said.

Bazali said it was politically unhealthy for old politicians to retrain in the halls of power while young people just stand aside and watch unframed.

While responding, Don Usman University thanked stakeholders for placing their trust in it, calling on them to give it more time to consult and seek advice from others in the three local government areas of the federal constituency. .

While congratulating former President Dogara, the speaker said that without a mentor for young politicians, the future of the country will remain bleak.
